WELCOMING NEW OWNERSHIP

Jason, Angie, Mya, and Penny (black lab) would like to welcome you to Moose Jaw Resort!

Coming to you from good old Superior, WI (across the river from Duluth, MN), they love camping, being outdoors, and keeping busy. When Moose Jaw was for sale, and they visited for the first time, they knew they had to have this gem. The stunning view of the lake and the impeccable trails this area has to offer was beyond compare. Learning the history of Moose Jaw and meeting the people stole their hearts and sealed the deal. This is truly a special place!

They are committed to keeping Moose Jaws’ legacy alive and making it thrive. The amazing team here at Moose Jaw makes the wheels go around.

Our slogan: Adventure Awaits

WHAT DO THEY MOST LOOK FORWARD TO ON THIS NEW JOURNEY?

“Meeting all the wonderful people, near and far. Always enticed by a project, Jason looks forward to the challenges that await in keeping the nostalgic history of Moose Jaw alive. The talented staff have been very welcoming, and he is excited to work alongside them while collaborating to incorporate their new and creative ideas into the business. And, with the activities on the resort always at the ready, he is excited to enjoy hunting, fishing, trail riding, walking the dog, pontoon boating, and getting up early to see the sunrise.”

Hospitality! Knowing families have been visiting for years is truly special, and Angie wants to help ensure their stay is special each and every time. Whether it is someone’s first time at Moose Jaw or it’s a return visitor, everyone should leave feeling rejuvenated, smiling, and looking forward to their next visit. Moose Jaw is also the perfect place for her to spend quality time with her daughter, Mya, cooking, having fun in the sun, snowmobiling, and trail riding.

— Angie
Her new journey gives her the opportunity to take charge of the mini golf course, a challenge she is excited to undertake. Mya is happiest when she is swimming in the lake at her leisure, UTVing, eating French fries, or spending time on the WiFi.

Moose Jaw’s newest resident pup, Penny has a lot of feelings, loves people, and has great manners. She is looking forward to chasing squirrels and walking (more realistically, running) to the mailbox every day!

STEEPED IN HISTORY

A colony of resorts were developing on the chain as Simeon Caro had established his Pine Forest Resort on the southeast shore of Pike Lake in 1902. In 1915 Mrs. Janet (McDonald) Cole, widow of noted Milwaukee lawyer Rublee A. Cole, hired a crew to build a set of cabins on the northwest shore of Pike Lake on William F. Turner’s old homestead. Having purchased the land on the south shore of Round Lake in 1899, and Turner’s old homestead at the thoroughfare between Round and Pike Lakes by 1901, the Coles built a cabin in 1902 and used it as a retreat. They called their cabin “The Homestead,” and the new resort “The Homestead Resort.”

A century later, Boyd’s Mason Lake Resort is the only 19th century establishment to survive largely intact and continues to thrive, entertaining guests from throughout the Midwest. Ross and Sylvester’s Pike Lake Lodge has been largely sold off but the original 1897 lodge and three cabins remain open to the public as Moose Jaw Resort. Three original cabins still exist along with the lodge. Five new cabins have been constructed for a total of eight through 2017.
